The methodology adopted is the collaborative learning and shared construction of knowledge: the teacher is not the only player who guides the process of acquiring knowledge, there is no flow of notions and information flowing from the individual (the teacher) towards the many, but there are more crosscutting-flows; the teacher does not transfer knowledge from him/herself to others, rather provides adequate inputs, facilitating the circulation of information and the creation of new knowledge, starting from the students of the course and their specific training and aptitude.
VIS School for Higher Education therefore proposes a shift in roles, entrusting responsibilities that are equally distributed within the group of participants: everyone has an active part in the training process. The tools used are asynchronous (newsgroups, forums, multimedia materials) and synchronous (talks, webinars), capable of producing a level of interactivity comparable to a course delivered in presence but with a much more elastic and flexible mode of use. Given the connection difficulties and possible time zone problems, all the synchronous moments are also re-proposed in deferred form through recording.
Our courses are aimed at a very diversified target that changes according to the topic of the course (aspiring international volunteers and expatriate co-operators, university students, graduates wishing to specialize, school teachers of all levels, professionals and entrepreneurs) with the aim of disseminating expertise in the field of international development cooperation and global citizenship education and to provide suitable tools for better understanding the economic, cultural, anthropological, political, social and planning implications linked to interventions in the countries.
VIS School for Higher Education engages highly qualified teachers, university lecturers together with professionals with significant experience in international development cooperation and the promotion and protection of human rights
